What are some Christian denominations in canada?

Like every country, Canada also has several Christian denominations. There are many different categories including, Angelican, Baptist, Catholic, Christian, Evangelical Lutheran, Methodist, Hutterian Brethren, Lutheran, Mennonite, Messianic Judaism, Orthodox, Pentecostal, and Presbyterian. The two main religions, though, are Angelican and Catholic.

Like the United States, Canada is one of the most religiously divers countries in thr world. South-eastern Ontario has been called the most religiously diverse region of any country in the world. A major contributor to this trend is the large number of immigrants to Canada who have settled in the Toronto ON area.

Here is a list of some of the trends in religion in Canada.

  • The percentage of Christians is in rapid decline in Canada, dropping .09 percentage points per year. The rate is identical to that of the U.S.
  • Small non-Christian faith groups are increasing in number and popularity.
  • The percentage of Athiests, Agnostics, Humanists, secularists and persons of no religious adherence is increasing rapidly.
  • Many Canadians identify themselves as adherents of a specific religion, religious group or denomination, but no longer attend services.
